The TRUEDEM project provides four secondary databases, offering a unique resource for the study of political trust and its dynamics across Europe. The databases cover voting and elections (September 2023), political trust trends (January 2024), polarization trends (April 2024), and political participation on social media (June 2025). In addition, a large-scale online survey has been conducted in 24 European countries, generating a dataset of microdata on citizens’ attitudes, experiences, and perceptions. Together, these resources deliver a comprehensive set of indicators and indexes on the state of political trust, its evolution over time, and the factors that shape it. They shed light on the predictors of political trust, as well as on citizens’ evaluations of the trustworthiness of political actors and institutions. All datasets, codebooks, and supporting documentation are available here for open consultation and use. They are updated regularly to reflect new data releases in 2024 and 2025, ensuring that researchers, policymakers, and civil society actors have access to the most up-to-date information.
