V.N.Karazin Kharkiv National University

TRUEDEM team in Ukraine is based at the School of Sociology of V.N.Karazin Kharkiv National University. The team is led by Dr. Irina Kuzina whose primary field of expertise is trust in political institutions in transitional societies, trust-building, and predictors of trust. Beyond that, the team brings in extensive expertise on empirical social research, quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methods, as well as legal studies. The team will act as a partner in a several WPs and will assist with the update of the online quantitative databases. 

Iryna Kuzina, PhD, is an Acting Head and Associate Professor of the Department of Methods of Sociological Research, the School of Sociology, V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. She is teaching the courses “Methods of collecting of sociological information”, “Methods of data processing and data analysis in Sociology”, “Mathematic modeling in Sociology”, “Democracy: from Theory to Practice”. Her research interests include trust, political support, political system, education system, law enforcement system, IDPs and refugees, methods of sociological research.

Oleksandr Kizilov, PhD, is Director of the Social and Humanities Research Center (V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University), Associate Professor at the Department of Methods of Sociological Research, the School of Sociology, V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. He is teaching the courses “Methodology and organization of sociological research”, “Methods of collecting of sociological information”. His research interests include ethnic minority studies, higher education innovative processes, formation and functioning of mass consciousness of inhabitants of modern megacity.

Oleksandra Pedchenko is Lecturer at the Department of Methods of Sociological Research, the School of Sociology, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. She teaches the course "Methods of marketing research: practical marketing". Her research interests include social functions of photography, sociology of art, sociology of everyday life, sociology of culture, sociology of music, methodology and methods of sociological research, methods of marketing research.

Ihor Danylenko, Senior lecturer at the Department of Methods of Sociological Research, the School of Sociology, V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University; Senior researcher of the Social and Humanities Research Center (V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University). He is teaching the courses: “Methods of collecting of sociological information”, “Methods of data processing and data analysis in Sociology”, “Measuring Social Processes”. His research interests include trust, law enforcement system, life quality studies, health, higher education innovative processes, statistical analysis, qualitative analysis.

Yuliya Bidenko, PhD, is Associate Professor and Guarantor of the Master’s Program “Global Studies and World Politics” at Karazin Kharkiv National University, Political Science Department. For 2023 she is also affiliated with ZOiS, Berlin (The Centre for East European and International Studies, Berlin) as a Senior Visiting Scholar for the U-Net Program. Dr. Yuliya Bidenko regularly cooperates as a political analyst with local, national, and foreign media and think tanks, such as Freedom House, Alliance for Democracies, Belgium; ZOiS, Berlin; Prague Civil Society Centre; Caucasian House, Tbilisi; New Europe Centre and Democratic Initiatives Foundation, Kyiv. Dr. Bidenko’s research interests relate to the democratization, civil society and non-military components of the Ukrainian resistance, decentralization, ideologies, political regimes’ changes, and the establishment of democratic institutions and reforms in Ukraine and in Eastern Europe.
