Bikupan Values Research Institute
TRUEDEM team in Sweden is based at the Bikupan Values Research Institute and is led by Research Fellow Prof. Bi Puranen. Prof. Puranen has extensive experience in security and migration studies, analysis of values and value change, primary data collection in social sciences. The team has strong connections with civil society organizations. The team also brings in expertise on economic theory and methods of economic analysis which will enrich the interdisciplinarity of the project. The team will co-lead WP 4 “Culture, trust and democracy”.
Bi Puranen, PhD, is Founding Director of the Bikupan Values Research Institute in Stockholm, and Secretary General World Values Survey Association (WVSA), Sweden. She is Associate Professor in the History of Economics at the University of Stockholm and earlier professor of Future studies and Communication strategies at Sophia Antipolis, France. Her research focus on values, social norms and competence development. In her most recent year she has led projects on integration and competence development concerning non-European migrants in Sweden and Europe with a focus on communication strategies and common European values.
