Comenius University Bratislava

TRUEDEM team in Slovak Republic is based at the Department of Political Science of Comenius University and is led by Prof. Aneta Világi whose expertise encompasses political institutions with the focus on political parties, minority studies and Slovak political system within the context of European integration. She has been PI in projects funded by European Commission and Slovak Research and Development Agency. The team brings in expertise on voting behaviour, quality of democracy, democratic representation, performance of democratic institutions, as well as legal studies. The team leads WP6 “Social media and political trust: democracy backing or democracy destabilization”. 

Aneta Világi, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia and Vice Dean for International Relations at its Faculty of Arts. She studies Slovak politics, European integration and research methodology. Her current work on Euroscepticism and anti-democratic politics draws on qualitative fieldwork and social science experiments in Slovakia. Aneta has researched a range of topics, including Slovak elections to national and European parliament, ethnic minorities in Slovakia and Euroscepticism. She supervised the international project of the EC programme „Europe for Citizens“, which aimed to improve expert´s comprehension of popular attitudes towards the EU and IMCODED project exploring communication on democracy and EU deficits supported by the Slovak Agency for Research. Currently she leads international project supported by EC program „Erasmus+“: GLocalEAst: Developing a new curriculum in Global Migration, Diaspora and Border Studies in East-Central Europe. Világi shares her insights with media on regular basis including Slovak national broadcaster (TV & radio), print media and sporadically foreign media.

Pavol Baboš obtained degree in sociology from K.U. Leuven and PhD in political science at Comenius University in Bratislava. Currently Pavol works as an Assistant Professor at the Sociology Department, Faculty of Arts, Comenius University. His main research interests is in public attitudes towards democracy and European integration, including voting behaviour. Pavol has strong background in quantitative methodology and statistical modelling, as well as experimental approaches in social sciences. Recent publication includes ‘Role of Anxiety in Radicalizing Political Attitudes: Experimental Evidence from Slovakia‘ (Studia Psychologica); ‘Just a Show? Effects of Televised Debates on Political Attitudes and Preferences in Slovakia‘ (East European Politics and Societies); ‘Making Sense of the European Union: Mapping „Thought Communities‟ in Six EU Member States‘ (Slovak Sociological Review).

Lea Daňková obtained degree in cultural anthropology at the Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava. Currently she works at the Dean's office of the Faculty of Arts as an office manager. Lea has gain the experiences with PR and communication during her work for Faculty´s Academic Senate and International Relation Office.
